Better to say Stockschiessen. It is slightly different to Curling.
The curling ground is just a 2 kilometer walk away from the nature hotel Steinschalerhof. You walk about 30 - 45 minutes along the river Pielach. Of course we can also organise you a bus-transfer to the curling ground and back.
There are four curling alleys on the ground which is located in an "open hall". That means you can do this funny activity in every season of the year. There is no wind, rain or snow, there are just temperatures like outside. During winter you can also do ice curling there!
To warm up you find the club house next door - the club members are happy to serve you drinks.

You play all year long on asphalt alleys. After a welcome-Schnaps, you get an introduction of the rules and the usage of the curling stick. After a short training the competition starts.
It is always great fun because on one hand it is easy to do. But on the other hand is it not really easy to do it the right way.
Group Size
If you want to do curling you should have a minimum group of 6-8 people. There are 4 alleys at the curling ground. The biggest groupe size is 45 people (one part of the group does "Plattlschießen"
Chairman
The chairman of the curling club in Kirchberg is Mr. Helmut Weißenbacher. He is also the supplier of mushrooms for the nature hotels Steinschalerhof and Steinschaler Doerfl.
Getting there
A nice walk along the river Pielach after a meeting or during a holiday is the perfect way to relax. If you prefer to go by bus we are very happy to help you with a transfer.
