The royal award for sustaninable regions was Europe-wide award. The Dirndl valley came in the final (was one of the last three).
At the final in april 2007 in Scotland, the Dirndl vally reached the second place!
After presentation of the finalists about the region and question from the expert-jury, the winners were chosen.
In the jury were:
Mr. E. Yunis (WTO), Mr. Ianello (Europäische Union), some university professors from England, Denmark and Germany.
Representatives of the Dirndl valley were:

- Mr. Hans Weiß - Steinschaler
- Mrs. Johanna Weiß - Dirndl princess - Steinschaler
