Vienna Airport is indeed approximately 110 km by road from Steinschalerhof (english). The taxi to the airport would cost approximately € 170,- € 200,- (one way) - we can book for you a cab when you are here.
It takes approximately 1.5 hours to get to the airport by cab.
But trains are frequent, too, so you should have no problem getting to Vienna by train early, or get back in the afternoon or evening.
As an example, if you take a train at 9:30, you would be at the airport 12:15. You can check the times and connections yourself for the day you are planning at the Austrian Railway website (http://www.oebb.at;) our station is named: Steinschal-Tradigist, and Vienna Airport is Flughafen Wien).
Arrival with public transport
To get to the Steinschalerhof (english) with public transport will take approximately 2 hours. It cam be also much quicker. It depend how you get the connections.
1. Every 30 minutes there is a bus from Vienna Internationl Aiport to Wien Westbahnhof (Vienna western train station) -new from dec 13th 2015 Hauptbahnhof - main Staion.
2. From Wien take a train to St. Pölten Hauptbahnhof (St. Poelten main station - St. Pölten Hauptbahnhof). Please be aware that you take an express train (it takes you about 25 minutes). These trains are quicker because they do not stop in every station.
3. Change in St. Pölten Hauptbahnhof to Mariazellernbahn (narrow-gauge railway of Mariazell).
4.a. For the Steinschalerhof please get off at station Steinschal-Tradigist (please ask train staff). 180 meter behind the train station there is the Steinschalerhof.
4.b.For the Steinschaler Dörfl please get off at station Frankenfels (please ask train staff). Please let us know your arrival time, we are happy to pick you up!

Arrival by taxi
You can take a cab at Vienna airport too. Keep in mind that this is not the cheapest way to reach us. It costs at between € 160 and € 200 (one way!) depending on the company you choose and the number of people travelling.
